We’re launching a site that hopefully will bring you back to somewhere special to you. Nostalgia has always been a strong motivator in the media, and a span of twenty years seems to be the magic amount needed to bring someone back in time. The television networks used this formula well. In the 1970’s, Happy Days brought audiences back to the 1950’s. In the 1980’s, The Wonder Years did the same thing with it’s 1960’s setting. The pattern continued in the 1990’s, with That ’70s Show and the short-lived, but very much recommended Freaks and Geeks taking audiences at the turn of the millennium back to the 1980’s. That trend continues today, with The Stranger Things proving that there’s still tremendous interest in retro content.

The Dash Retro project intends to preserve and feature past memories through video, photos, and other digital media. Our Youtube channel will feature commercials from various pre-millennium eras, open boxing of items from those times, retro computer features, and other short form content. Photos, slides, and very short videos of particular interest will be presented on our Instagram page. We’ve also set up a Discord server to introduce and promote interactions between people that share our passion in preserving and reliving the past.
